Our Research Agenda
Providing the Public
With A Full Understanding of Chiropractic
Since VitaLogics EHR™ was created by chiropractors for chiropractors there is a higher purpose for the creation of this practice technology. The inherent database of VitaLogics EHR™ will be used to publish large scale chiropractic research to teach the world that chiropractic is not simply a solution for back pain.
Health Mission’s Practice Based Research (PBR) utilizing the technology of VitaLogics EHR™ and published by Life University comprises of two unique projects in the first phase of research. The first phase is designed to study the demographics of the chiropractic market and the effectiveness of the care by utilizing real, day to day, HIPAA compliant, active patient visits in clinical settings throughout the world. The initial demographic study will fully compile age group, gender, region, visit average in occurrences/duration/pattern, charge amounts, collection per service, collection average per case to produce the most accurate and detailed demographic study in the history of chiropractic.
The second project in phase one is to focus on determining the effectiveness of chiropractic care on certain conditions. The general public knows of chiropractors as “back doctors” and our goal is to shed light on the effectiveness of chiropractic care on conditions such as migraines, blood pressure, allergies, fibromyalgia, reduced range of motion, carpal tunnel syndrome, scoliosis and other conditions. Results will be based upon cross referencing NIH approved SF-12 & 36 patient intake form to uniform initial/interim/final patient examination and daily objective findings. Practice Based Research studies are not “double blind” studies nor are they able to measure placebo hence allocating 10,000+ case per condition is critical to yield high validity.
Enhancing the Data Pool
Our target goal is to increase the current research pool of 200+ clinics with 110,000+ active patient cases that have had 1 million+ patient encounters to 1000+ clinics, with 500,000+ active patient cases creating 5 million+ patient encounters. We truly believe 500,000+ cases examined for this study will have much more weight than a study performed with 110,000.
